About Mason Dixon District
Mason Dixon District is a group of women from four different states that plays competition golf with seven different clubs during the year. The purpose of the Mason Dixon District is to promote golf throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, Northwestern Maryland, Northeastern West Virginia and the Northern Virginia areas bordering the Mason Dixon line.
Maryland: Holly Hills Country Club
Pennsylvania; Chambersburg Country Club
Virginia; Winchester Country Club, Loudoun Country Club, and Shenandoah Valley Golf Club
West Virginia; Cress Creek Country Club and The Woods.
The group travels to each club once a year and plays their course. You only play in the tournaments that you want to play. At each tournament there will be cash prizes for players plus club points that are awarded to the players and their home club. These points are accumulated throughout the season and determine the top players and top club of the year. The Woods team has won the trophy for the most points accumulated for the year three times!
Following are the qualifications to join The Mason Dixon District:
1. You must be a member of the WWGA.
2. Your Mountain View course handicap must be 30 or under when you join.
3. Membership is $35.00 per year ($25 to MDD and $10 toward WWGA hosting expenses.)
4. The fee to play in each MDD tournament is $60.00 (This covers the cost of greens fees, cart, breakfast, lunch and prizes).
