Subject: Charity Tournament
We had 34 four person teams (a couple were trios) participate in yesterday's charity tournament. For such a large turnout, the pace of play was reasonable, and everyone seemed to have a good time. With such great support from WMGA/WWGA members and the public participants, our total income was $16,919. The expenses for green fees, prizes, food/water, etc. was $5,345.56.
No one working for the Backpack program receives a salary. So the net income of $11,573.44 goes directly to reducing child hunger in Berkeley County.
The three winning teams were:
1st place with a team score of 54: Mark Clowser, Matt Najewicz, Jim Carpenter, and Rock Stemple
2nd place on a countback with a team score of 56: David Dinch, Tyler Greenstreet, Josh Simons, and Darrell Rakes
3rd place with a team score of 56: BJ Bjornaas, Bob Dolin, Greg Tanner and Vince Serio.
For anyone interested, attached is a pic of the full results. The WMGA extends our sincere thanks to everyone who supported this worthy charity by either playing in the tournament or sponsoring it.
There are three charity tournaments coming up that could also use your support:
The Meals on Wheels on June 22
The Tri-County Pastoral Counseling Service on June 27
Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center (EPEC) on Monday, July 11th
The Woods Men's Golf Association
